A rising star: Maddy’s story

Real Women. Real Impact: Growth – Maddy

From the very beginning, Maddy brought a sense of warmth and positivity that made people feel immediately comfortable.

Even before becoming a formal volunteer, she had already become a familiar and welcoming presence within our groups. Her genuine smile and thoughtful encouragement help create an environment where people feel at ease and supported.

Since joining the team as a volunteer, Maddy has continued to grow in confidence and contribution. She brings fresh ideas and enthusiasm, helping to shape the groups she supports.

Growth often begins with a simple step — showing up, being willing to learn, and discovering the difference you can make for others.

Her work alongside Anna in co-running the Practical Mindfulness sessions has been particularly valuable. Each week she prepares lesson plans and activities, helping create structured sessions that encourage reflection and personal growth.

Maddy sometimes worries about finding the “right words,” but what people notice most is the kindness and authenticity she brings simply by being herself. Her presence alone helps others feel welcome and supported.

Her journey is a wonderful reminder that growth often begins with showing up and being willing to learn.

Real women. Real impact. Quiet change.
