Kindness in Action: Kate’s story

Real Women. Real Impact: Kindness – Kate

Kindness can change the course of someone’s day — and sometimes even their life. Kate shows how powerful simple acts of care can be.

Kate gives her time generously to the people she supports at Waythrough. She listens with genuine care and patience, creating space for others to share their worries without feeling judged or rushed. No concern is ever dismissed, and she meets each person with warmth and understanding.

What makes Kate’s support especially meaningful is that she doesn’t stop at listening. She looks for ways to help. Whether researching services that might support someone through a difficult situation or helping people find practical solutions, she quietly goes the extra mile.

Kindness is often spoken about as a simple gesture but Kate shows how powerful it can be when it is put into action every day.

One example of this was when a client had been without heating for several weeks. Kate helped find advice about replacing a boiler and arranged for a heated blanket to be provided through their energy supplier bringing immediate comfort during a very stressful time.

Through thoughtful actions like these, Kate helps people feel seen, supported and valued. Her kindness lifts the atmosphere around her and reminds us how much small acts of care can matter.

Real women. Real impact. Quiet change.
