Just add water! Finding calm, companionship and the little joys of nature at Earlswood Lakes.
Sometimes, it’s the simplest things that make us feel good. A bit of fresh air, a change of scenery, some friendly company and the chance to leave the everyday hustle and bustle behind.

I recently had the pleasure of accompanying our group on a visit to Earlswood Lakes. It’s such a lovely spot, right on our doorstep, and a opportunity to slow down, step away from the busyness of everyday life and reconnect with the natural world around us.
Surrounded by trees, water and wildlife, there is something wonderfully calming about spending time outdoors. Watching the gentle ripples on the lake, listening to the birds, noticing the changing seasons and taking a moment to simply be can help us feel more grounded, peaceful and present.
Sometimes the best connections happen when we’re simply enjoying the moment together.
And there’s always something to catch our eye! WFrom watching the ducks and other water birds to spotting wildlife and enjoying the beauty of the surroundings, nature invites us to pause, look a little closer and appreciate the small things we might otherwise overlook. Feeding the birds can bring a smile, spark conversation and remind us of the simple pleasures that are so easily forgotten in our busy lives.
But this is about more than just enjoying the outdoors. It is also about connection.
Walking alongside others, sharing stories, laughing together or simply enjoying a peaceful moment in good company can help us feel part of something. Sometimes, meaningful connections grow through the simplest experiences — a friendly conversation, a shared appreciation of nature or the comfort of knowing we are not alone.
We didn’t need an elaborate activity or a packed schedule. Just being outdoors together was enough.
Spending time in green spaces can support our emotional wellbeing, helping us to feel calmer, lift our mood and create a little breathing space when life feels challenging.
At Earlswood Lakes, we can take time to notice the beauty around us, nurture our connection with nature and, just as importantly, strengthen our connections with one another.
A little fresh air. A moment of calm. A shared experience. A reminder that wellbeing can be found in the simplest of places.
Because sometimes, all we need is to get outside, take a breath, share a smile and enjoy the moment we are in.
Sometimes the best connections happen when we’re simply enjoying the moment together.
