£500 raised from the Oxted Pram Race

Every year since 1977, the wonderful madness that is the Rotary Club’s Oxted Pram Race rolls through town, raising funds for local causes while proving that prams aren’t just for babies—they’re also excellent for questionable steering and community spirit. Teams dash between seven licensed premises in full fancy dress, all while pushing a pram and fully expecting to get soaked with water by enthusiastic spectators.

This year, Waythrough East Surrey Community Connections was one of the lucky beneficiaries. Our fabulous clients and staff took to the streets to help marshal and collect donations (no actual babies were raced… we checked). We also loved cheering on our peer support coordinator, Angie Muscio, whose son Thomas was part of the racing team out getting pleasantly soggy for a good cause.
At the presentation, Angie Muscio proudly accepted a £500 donation on our behalf—cue delighted applause and a virtual victory lap with a pram!
Our huge thanks to The Oxted Rotary Club and Thomas Muscio.
