Weaving Nature ~ Dragonflies in Willow

Our latest hands-on creative workshop in August saw clients guided by Lorraine Ellery Mathews in the art of willow weaving in Outwood.

Starting with long lengths of willow – some soaked for flexibility and others dry and beautifully dyed – Lorraine took us step by step through the process of shaping elegant willow dragonflies.

The workshop was both mindful and absorbing, requiring focus and patience yet fun and with stunning results!

By the end, every person had crafted a beautiful, unique dragonfly to take home, along with the satisfaction of learning a new skill.

Both the workshop and transport were generously funded by Surrey Hills Society.
